Northwest Juvenile Defender Center
The Defender was selected based on its ability to serve as the best possible resource for the juvenile defense bar in the northwest.
The National Juvenile Defender Center was created to improve access to counsel and quality of representation for children in delinquency and criminal proceedings and to build the capacity of the juvenile defense bar. The National Center will provide support to public defenders, appointed counsel, clinical support, and non-profit organizations to ensure quality representation in urban, suburban, rural, and tribal areas. The National Center was made possible by a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and is managed by the ABA Juvenile Justice Center in partnership with the Youth Law Center and the Juvenile Law Center.
